Cover Up Tops Turns One!

Cover Up Tops Turns One!

COVER UP TOPS TURNS ONE!

One Year of Designs, Ideas, Learning & Building Something From Scratch

One year.

It doesn't sound like a long time, but when you look at everything that has happened since Cover Up Tops launched, it feels like a lot longer!

What started as an idea has grown into an independent clothing brand with **610+ original designs**, an international customer base, multiple collections, social media channels, a growing online presence and, most importantly, a brand identity that continues to evolve.

So, what exactly is Cover Up Tops?

Quite simply, it's about wearing something that says something about you.

WHY COVER UP TOPS EXISTS

I've always believed a T-shirt can be much more than just something you throw on.

It can show what you're interested in.

It can make someone laugh.

It can start a conversation.

It can represent a favourite film, game, genre, hobby, attitude or simply a state of mind.

That's the thinking behind Cover Up Tops.

With more than 20 years of experience across fashion, retail, management, brand development and training, I've spent years seeing how people use clothing to express themselves.

Cover Up Tops is my opportunity to bring all of those experiences together with my passion for design, sci-fi, technology, music, streetwear, gaming, retro culture and plenty of other things that make life interesting.

THREE THINGS ABOUT C.U.T.S

You might have noticed that I sometimes refer to Cover Up Tops as **C.U.T.S.**

Here's why:

C.U.T.S = COVER UP TOPS

It's simply the shortened version of the brand name. A little punchier, a little more memorable and something that gives the brand its own identity.

C.U.T.S IS ABOUT EXPRESSION

The idea isn't to create T-shirts for one particular type of person.

It's about creating different designs for different interests, personalities and moments.

You might want something for the gym.

Something for a festival.

Something for a night out.

Something for travelling.

Or something to wear while sitting on the sofa doing absolutely nothing!

C.U.T.S KEEPS EVOLVING

The brand isn't finished.

New ideas, collections and influences are constantly being explored, with inspiration coming from fashion, travel, music, technology, science fiction, gaming, street culture and everyday life.

The goal is simple:

Keep creating. Keep learning. Keep improving.

THREE T-SHIRT FACTS YOU MAY NOT KNOW

1. The T-shirt became a mainstream fashion item partly through practicality

The modern short-sleeved crew-neck T-shirt was issued by the U.S. Navy in the early 20th century. Sailors often wore the lightweight shirts on their own in hot environments, helping move the garment beyond its original role as underwear.

2. T-shirts can be fundraising machines

One of the most interesting examples is the University of Notre Dame's annual **"The Shirt"** project. It began in 1990 as a student fundraiser, selling more than 9,000 shirts in its first year and raising over $17,000. The tradition continues today, with proceeds supporting student organisations and other causes.

3. A T-shirt can become a piece of identity

Notre Dame's experience shows something fascinating about graphic tees: a simple garment can become a visual symbol that unites a community. Their annual shirt changes colour and theme, with designs inspired by university songs, quotes and football history.

And that's something I love about T-shirts.

They're clothing, but they're also storytelling.

610+ DESIGNS — AND COUNTING

One of the biggest milestones of the past year has been reaching **over 610 original designs**.

And I'm not stopping there.

Cover Up Tops currently explores genres including:

🚀 Sci-fi & space
👾 Cyberpunk
🎮 Gaming
🎧 Clubbing & nightlife
🎪 Festivals
💪 Fitness & motivation
👻 Horror
📼 Retro culture
😂 Humour
⚽ Football & sport
🌍 Travel & lifestyle

There are also plenty of new ideas being worked on behind the scenes.

ONE YEAR ON — I NEED YOUR HELP

Building the products was one challenge.

Getting people to see them is another!

The next stage of the Cover Up Tops journey is about increasing visibility, reaching new audiences and getting the brand in front of people who genuinely connect with the designs.

And this is where you can help.

Like the social posts.

Follow the TikTok and Instagram accounts.

Watch and share the videos.

Tell me which designs you like.

Buy a tee if something catches your eye.

Tell someone else about Cover Up Tops.

Every like, share, comment, visit and purchase helps an independent brand move forward.

WHAT'S COMING IN SCI-FI?

There is plenty for science-fiction fans to look forward to.

STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS — SEASON 4

The latest season has arrived, continuing Captain Pike's adventures aboard the Enterprise with more exploration, strange worlds and plenty of classic Trek imagination.

LANTERNS

Coming to HBO Max in August 2026, the new DC series follows Hal Jordan and John Stewart as they investigate a mysterious case with a distinctly cosmic flavour.

VISION QUEST

Marvel's Vision returns in a new Disney+ series in October 2026, with Ultron and Jocasta also part of the story.

3 BODY PROBLEM — SEASON 2

Netflix's ambitious adaptation of Cixin Liu's science-fiction trilogy is also expected to return during 2026, continuing its increasingly cosmic story.

DUNE: PART THREE

Denis Villeneuve's Dune saga is scheduled to continue in cinemas in December 2026, bringing another huge dose of science fiction to the big screen.

And if cyberpunk is your thing, keep an eye on Neuromancer, Apple's adaptation of William Gibson's genre-defining novel, currently expected around late 2026/2027.

SPACE & SCIENCE — THE REAL FUTURE IS PRETTY COOL

You don't need science fiction to find amazing things happening.

ARTEMIS IS MOVING FORWARD

NASA is preparing for the next major stages of its Artemis programme.

NASA says Artemis III hardware is currently being processed and assembled, with the mission planned as a demonstration ahead of future lunar surface operations. NASA currently describes Artemis III as paving the way for astronauts to return to the Moon in 2028.

EUCLID IS LOOKING DEEP INTO THE PAST

The European Space Agency's Euclid space telescope has identified **31 of the oldest quasars ever documented**, including two that are the oldest yet observed. Some date back to when the universe was only around 5% of its current age.

Think about that for a second.

We're looking at objects whose light began travelling towards us when the universe was incredibly young.

SOLAR STORMS COULD BE EVEN MORE EXTREME

A NASA-led study published in July 2026 suggests that scientists may have underestimated how intense the effects of solar storms can become.

That matters because extreme solar activity can affect satellites, communications, navigation systems and electrical infrastructure here on Earth.

The universe is basically reminding us that our technology is still operating inside a very active cosmic environment!

ONE YEAR. 610+ DESIGNS. STILL GOING.

So here we are.

One year of Cover Up Tops.

Hundreds of designs.

A huge amount learned.

Plenty of mistakes.

A few headaches!

Lots of late nights.

And an enormous amount of fun.

The next stage is about getting more eyes on the brand, reaching new audiences and continuing to build something I'm genuinely proud of.

If you've supported Cover Up Tops already, thank you.

If you've shared a post, watched a video, left a comment, bought a tee or simply told someone about the brand — it all matters.

And if you're discovering Cover Up Tops for the first time...

Welcome. Have a look around. You might find something that feels like you.
